About

Lennard Pelikan studied history (with a focus on medieval history) and political science at the University of Konstanz and University College Cork (Ireland) from 2017–2024. From 2018–2024, he worked as a student assistant at the departments of Contemporary History, Medieval History and History of Religions at the University of Konstanz. In 2024, Pelikan worked as a research assistant on the application for a Priority Programme of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the University of Hamburg.

Since March 2025, Lennard Pelikan has been a researcher at the GWZO, working on the project VAMOD (»Modeling Pre-Modern Ambiguities: Case Studies from Eastern Europe«).

Aktuelles Forschungsthema

Based on charters from the 14th and 15th centuries, this project aims to depict premodern historical realities in the border area between modern Poland and Ukraine (»Crown Ruthenia«) for the database FactGrid. Our goal is also to develop guidelines for future, similar projects.
