Dorothee Riese, M.A.
About
Dorothee Riese holds a bachelor in International Literatures and Slavic Studies from the University of Tübingen (2010-2014). From 2014 to 2018 she completed a Master of Arts in Culture and History of Central and Eastern Europe at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). She completed several study stays abroad at Moscow State University, the Pedagogical University in Barnaul (Siberia) and at St. Petersburg State University, specializing in Russian and Ukrainian literature, culture and 20th-century history. Until 2021, she was a master’s student in Literary Writing at the German Literature Institute Leipzig. She held a study scholarship from the Heinrich Böll Foundation. From 2018 to 2020 she was a trainee at the Buchenwald Memorial in Weimar. Riese was the 2020 Editor of the GWZO exhibition »Leningradski feminism 1979«.
Dorothee Riese has been Assistant to the Directorate at the GWZO since May 2022. She has been coordinator of the Leibniz Research Network Eastern Europe since January 2024.
